Introduction
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme is designed to meet the needs of a working professional who intends to acquire a post graduate level business education. The programme focuses on the functional competencies required of professionals by emphasising the identification, analysis and the use of robust problem-solving techniques for complex business problems. The graduate students of this course learn a sound understanding of business problems and develop balanced decision-making abilities. The curriculum covers traditional business disciplines such as managerial economics, accounting, finance, quantitative analysis and management, supported by extensive development of oral and written communication skills and critical thinking. The programme creates highly interactive, applicationoriented learning environment emphasising teamwork.

b) Master of Science in Computer Science

Introduction
The Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS) aims to give the postgraduate student an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge at the post-graduate level. This intensive broad-based programme is designed for graduates who seek a career in computing or who already are working in computing but wish to broaden their knowledge, up-date their existing skills and obtain a formal higher qualification in computing. The taught course offers broad subject coverage including software engineering, databases, information system, multimedia, internet and object-oriented programming techniques. Students are expected to build on their skills and knowledge acquired through the undergraduate Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Information Technology (BSIT) programme. Graduates of MSCS can play a key role in the industry as system analysts, computer programmers, database designers, networking and computing consultants, web designers and developers, E-commerce and multimedia specialists.

Programme Outline
The Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS) programme is a 12 month, 3 semester programme. The minimum entry requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems with a 2.0 GPA. For existing students of Preston International College, applicants must have completed the ‘required core’ modules taught in the BSCS or BSIT degree programme of Preston
International College. Students have to complete a thesis or capstone course project at the end of the MSCS programme. The normal length of this programme is 3 semesters (12 months). Full-time students are expected to attend a minimum of 4 modules per semester.

Students may specialise in any of the following areas:

  • Software Engineering
  • System Analysis and Design
  • Computer Design and Architecture
  • Computer Graphics
  • Computer Programming
  • Database Design and Administration.

Prerequisites
Students are required to have completed their Bachelor of Computer Science degree, from a recognised College or University. Students without a BSCS degree will be advised to take additional modules for an 8 month duration which subsequently could extend the programme duration to up to 2 years.


c) Master of Health Care Management

Introduction
The Master of Health Care Administration (MHA) is a one year programme and offers specialisation in health care administration. The MHA prepares health care professionals including administrators, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, analysts, care givers and researchers to successfully manage and lead health care organisations. Students focus on mastering fundamental health care delivery and information knowledge to successfully guide and strengthen the delivery of services to consumers.

Prerequisites
• A recognised Bachelors Degree or Equivalent from a recognised University or College with at least 2.0 GPA.
• At least IELTS 5.5 band.
